Title:  Learning Specialist IV-- Sanger Learning and Career Center

What are your hobbies? Beads! I make and sell lampworked/art glass beads.  Business name is Yellow Dog Beads

What was your favorite childhood toy? Anything to do with art and/or drawing

What is your current position at UT? Briefly explain: I supervise the appointment tutoring program for the Sanger Learning and Career Center; I also oversee the research/assessment components at SLCC. Additionally, I teach a UGS 303 course in the fall semesters.

Have you had any jobs prior to your current job at UT?  If so, what were they? My first career was in banking

What is the most challenging aspect of your current job? Balancing responsibilities/priorities. With almost 200 undergraduate tutors to oversee, well, it can be challenging!

Tell us about one of your success stories that happened in your currently position (regarding a student, a co-worker, a project, etc.):  Any time I hear from a student I’ve counseled academically that they’ve turned their academic career around, I consider it a real success. I also write LOTS of recommendation letters for tutors going off to grad school, and I enjoy hearing about their experiences in medical school, law school, grad school, etc. I feel like I’m a part of it.
