Professional Development Day

This past Wednesday, ACA and APSA hosted the annual Professional Development Day (PDD) conference. This year's theme was Finding Your Joy and over 150 academic advisors and student service professionals attended a host of workshops that focused on bringing joy into the academic workplace. The Joy and Power of Collaboration and How to Make Your Presentation a Joyful Experience are just a couple of examples of the presentations offered throughout the day. The conference ended with a keynote speech by Dr. Kristin Neff, professor in the area human development and culture. Dr. Neff presented on the concept of self-compassion, which is something that she has both research and practiced over the past several years.
